The episode opens with Cordelia and her new boytoy Mitch talking about the upcoming May dance.  They run into Buffy (literally), and her bag full of weapons is knocked out of her hands and spills on the floor.  In class, Cordelia arranges to meet the teacher the next day so she can get help on her paper.  Meanwhile, Mitch gets attached in the locker room by a bat...wielded by an invisible person.  Cordelia is running for May queen...Xander and Willow mock her, but then Buffy tells them that she was May queen at her old school, in L.A.  Then they hear about Mitch, and rush to the locker room.  Mitch tells Buffy how the bat hit him by itself, and when she gets into the locker room she finds the word "Look" written out on the lockers.  The gang moves to investigate.

We see a flashback of Cordelia and her friend Harmony talking, and ignoring someone..we're not sure who.  Suddenly, we see almost the same scene, but Harmony abruptly falls down the stairs...but insists she was pushed.  Buffy feels someone bump into her right after the accident, but doesn't see anyone.  She hears a girl's laughter, and follows it to the music room, but doesn't find anyone.  The Gang suspects that they're dealing with an invisible girl, and they notice two suspicious guys in black suits hanging around the school.  Coincidence?

While patrolling the school that night, Buffy and Giles each hear flute music.  Giles is startled when Angel appears out of nowhere.  He's come to warn Giles..not Buffy, because it's "too hard for him to be around her".  He tells Giles that there's something going down...something big, but he doesn't know what.  He offers to get "the Kodex" for Giles...a book that is reputed to contain the most complete and accurate prophecies about the Slayer.

The next day at school we see another flashback of Cordy and her friends not paying attention to a girl.  Cordelia gets elected May Queen, and the gang notices the presence of the two creepy guys again, but thinks they might be bodyguards for Cordelia.  They find a missing persons report on a girl named Marcie Ross, who was a flute player and student who disappeared a few months prior.  Buffy heads back to the music room to investigate, and finds a hidden pad in the ceiling...where the invisible girl has been staying.  Buffy finds the girl's yearbook, confirming it's Marcie Ross.  Meanwhile, the teacher who was helping Cordelia gets attacked in her classroom, and Cordelia comes in just in time to save her.  Being written on the board, by a floating piece of chalk, is the word "Listen".

The gang figures out that since people perceived Marcie as invisible, she just one day WAS.  And that now she was mad at Cordelia..for how she'd treated her, AND for having everything that Marcie did not.  Cordelia also figures out that someone was after her, and comes to Buffy for help.  "I was hoping maybe you were in a gang.." she says.  Buffy goes off with Cordelia, and Giles, Willow, and Xander follow flute music down to the boiler room.  When they get there, they discover a radio playing the music as a decoy, and they're locked down there with a leaking gas pipe.  Meanwhile, Cordelia and Buffy have been captured by Marcie, and she ties them up to perform a little "surgery" on Cordelia's face.  Written on the curtain behind her is the word "Learn".  Buffy gets free, however, and by listening intently is able to determine where Marcie is, and capture her.  At that moment, the two men in suits bust in and take custody of the girl.  They identify themselves as F.B.I., and say Marcie will be "rehabilitated"  Angel shows up and rescues the guys in the Boiler room..bringing Giles the Kodex in the process.

The ending scene shows the "rehabilitation" center...Marcie and other people like her are being trained in infiltration and assassination for the government.

Flaws:

Not necessarily a flaw...but what was the point with the whole "Look, Listen, and Learn" thing?  It's like, ooh, there's an invisible girl leaving mysterious messages at the scene of each crime, but ultimately they don't even go into it.

Thoughts on the Episode:

An okay ep...nothing big.  We do get some more groundwork laid for the rising of the Master in the next episode.  Also, we get the first glimpse into Cordelia as a real person.

Best Line:

Giles:  "Once again I teeter at the precipice of the gender gap"     (that's just so british, i love it!)
