The episode opens with a fight in the cemetary, with Giles critiquing Buffy.  He finds a ring that the recently dusted vampire had been wearing, and takes it to study.  This is his first "I must consult my books" line.  Segue to the Master.  He reads from a dusty volume that prophesizes the coming of "the Annointed One" (hereafter known as A-1  :)  It says that five will die, and the A-1 will rise from th ashes and lead the Slayer to her death.  Meanwhile, back at school, Buffy's got a crush on this doofus Owen (he's not actually a doofus..he's supposed to be really cool.  I just didn't like him much).  She flirts with him while she and Giles hunt for clues about the ring.  She sees Owen again later at lunch, but Cordy tries to one-up her.  They all agree to meet at the Bronze later.

Giles catches Buffy later and tells her about the A-1, and forces her to patrol with him that night.  Pickings are slim at the cemetary,  and ultimately Giles lets her go to the Bronze.  There she sees Cordelia dancing with Owen and takes off.  Elsewhere, a busload of five people crashes.  Among the passangers are the busdriver, a mother and her small boy, a lone woman, and a psycho guy spouting religious phrases.  Everyone on the bus is killed.

At school the next day Owen asks Buffy why she didn't show the night before.  They make a new date for that night, but Giles shows up first and informs Buffy about the crash.  He wants her to go to the Funeral Home with him and Patrol.  She skips out though, and heads to the Bronze with Owen.  Giles makes for the Funeral Home on his own.

Angel shows up at the Bronze to warn Buffy about the A-1, and shows a hint of jealousy when he finds out she's on a date.  At the funeral home, Giles encounters vampires.  Xander and Willow had followed him, and rush off to get Buffy.  They arrive at the Bronze and covertly let Buffy know what's going on.  She goes with them to the Home, but Owen follows them, thinking it'll be "cool".  At the funeral home, Buffy finds Giles hiding in one of the cadaver lockers.  They try to get rid of Owen, but he's right there when the psycho from the bus rises.  He spouts some more biblical nonsense, and Buffy fights with him.  Owen is knowcked out in the exchange and Buffy, thinking Owen is dead, kicks the crap out of the vamp and cremates him.  Then Owen wakes up.

The next day at school Owen tells Buffy how great the night was, and how much he wants to do it again.  Buffy realizes that he might get hurt if he keeps going out with her, so she breaks it off with him.  Gile comes along and commiserates with her about how Destiny changed his life as well.  She agrees that Destiny sucks, but they're both glad that they  were able to prevent the prophecy.

The scene cuts to the Master's Lair where the real Annoined One, the little boy from the bus, has joined the Master's forces.

Flaws:   None found (yet! give me time!)

Thoughts on the Episode:  This episode of course laid the groundwork for the Annointed One, and the Prophecy that we find out about in "Prophecy Girl

Best Line:

(Giles trying to grappel with the idea of a pager.)   "She has a ...ah, ...beeping thing."
